oDesk Signup Process

Go to odesk by clicking on Signup create your account. oDesk may require verification of any user to uphold the identity policy and odesk user agreement. After registration, user must successfully complete the following identity verification process to become o Desk ID Verified:

1. Gather the three required documents:
• 1 x photograph
• Government-issued photo ID (NIC)
• Utility bill such as a gas, electric, phone or water bill, or submit a bank statement
2. Confirm your user information is up to date by clicking on the Setting icon and selecting User Setting.
3. Make sure that you are on a trusted network connection. oDesk discourage using public Wi-Fi.
4. Go to the Find Work > Find Jobs page, scroll down and click the Verify Your Identity. link
5. Submit your name, gender, birth date and current address. Upload your portrait. Confirm your entries and press the Continue button.
6. Enter your ID type, the name on the ID, ID number and expiration date. Upload the color scanned of your valid government issued photo ID (CNIC). Confirm you entries and press the Continue button.
7. Fill in your document type, the date, the name on the document and the account number. Upload a color scanned of your utility bill or bank statement. Confirm your entries and press the Complete button.

A member of the oDesk Management team will review your uploaded content to ensure it matches criteria given below. This usually takes 7 to 10 business days. oDesk will notify you when they complete the review:

1. Name and address on file must match your identity documents.
2. Identity documents must be government issued and not expired.
3. Portrait must appear to match the user photo in the ID (NIC) documents.
4. Date on utility bill, bank statement or electric bill must be within six months of the uploading date and the information must match your oDesk user information.
5. In some cases supplemental documentation or contact with the user via a video call (e.g webcam-enabled Skype) may be required.

You must initiate the verification process from your oDesk “User Information” or “Find Jobs” page. For your security, oDesk will never email you a link directly to the verification form. After completing verification process, you must complete your profile 100% by going to Edit Profile.

You must qualify odesk Readness Test. Go to Tests and complete this test. Try qualifying some other tests related to your skills. After all that go to Find Work > Categories of Interest and click on your skill related category, i.e Data Entry you will find different projects posted by different clients in each category. Click on Heading of a project read it and click Apply to This Job. A new dialog box will appear, go to Propose Terms and propose hourly or fixed rate and write Cover Letter. Check Agree to Terms box and click on Apply to This Job, in a few seconds you will find a message of completion of job posting.
